I ‘am Kate, the owner of Charmshape Custom Embroidery, Tailoring and Alterations Services , and I have over 23 years of experience in clothing alterations and custom embroidery. I can modify almost anything, but if there’s a rare instance where I can’t complete a particular alteration, I will let you know upfront. Due to a high demand for my services, I usually require a minimum of 5-10 business days to complete alterations. Unfortunately, I am unable to accommodate same-day requests. However, if you have a deadline that you need your item(s) ready by, please let me know, and I will make sure to meet that date.

How to Be Eco-Friendly in Oundle?

In our fast-paced world, where trends come and go in the blink of an eye, it’s easy to fall into the trap of disposable fashion. But what if we could slow down this cycle and embrace a more sustainable approach to style? Enter sewing alterations – a simple yet powerful way to make Oudle more eco-friendly.

Sewing Alterations: Stitching Sustainability into Our Town !

  1. Extending the Lifespan of Clothing: Every time we alter a piece of clothing to better fit our bodies or update its style, we’re breathing new life into it. Instead of discarding garments at the first sign of wear or a change in fashion, alterations allow us to continue enjoying our favourite pieces for years to come. By keeping clothing in circulation for longer, we reduce the demand for new production and lessen the environmental impact of the fashion industry.
  2. Reducing Textile Waste: Did you know that the fashion industry is one of the biggest contributors to global waste? From manufacturing to disposal, the journey of a garment often ends in a landfill. But by embracing sewing alterations, we can divert perfectly good clothing from this fate. Whether it’s hemming a pair of jeans or taking in a dress, every alteration means one less item of clothing heading to the trash heap.
  3. Get creative: There are endless possibilities when it comes to alteration. Get creative and come up with ways to update your old clothes.
  4. Preserving Heritage and Tradition: Our town has a rich cultural heritage, and sewing alterations can be a way to celebrate and preserve this legacy. Whether it’s incorporating traditional textiles into modern designs or reviving classic silhouettes, alterations allow us to the craftsmanship of the past while embracing the innovations of the future.
